Alsona MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Written by Jaclyn Curtis

What is the Alsona MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT connect to the apps you already use.

The Alsona MCP server connects your AI assistant to your Alsona account. Once it’s set up, you can ask about your agents, prospects, buying signals and inbox in plain English, right from the assistant you already have open.

For example:

  • “Which prospects from this week have an opportunity score above 75?”

  • “What buying signals did my agents pick up yesterday?”

  • “Pause my Q4 SaaS agent”

  • “Show me unread LinkedIn replies and draft responses I can review”

Your assistant reads the request, calls Alsona through MCP, and comes back with the answer or the action done.

How to set up Alsona MCP

Setup takes about 5 minutes. No code, unless you use Claude Code.

Step 1: Create an API key

  1. In Alsona, click your account name in the bottom-left corner and choose Integrations.

  2. Find the MCP card and click Manage.

  3. Under step 1, click Create API key. This opens your API Keys page.

  4. Click Create API key in the top right.

  5. Give the key a name you’ll recognize, like “Claude” or “ChatGPT.”

  6. Pick the access level:

    • Read-only: turn on the Read-only toggle. Your assistant can look at your data but can’t change anything.

    • Full access: leave Full access selected and the Read-only toggle off. Your assistant can also create, start and pause agents and edit prospects.

  7. Leave Enable right away on and click Create key.

  8. Copy the key and keep it somewhere safe.

Treat this key like a password. Anyone who has it can act on your Alsona account.

If you’re not sure which access level to use, start with read-only. You can always create a full access key later.

Step 2: Copy the server URL

On the MCP page, under step 2, click the copy icon next to the server URL:

https://mcp.hublinks.io/mcp

Hublinks is the service that runs the Alsona MCP connection, so that name appears on the sign-in page in the next step.

Step 3: Add Alsona to your AI assistant

When your assistant asks you to sign in, a Hublinks page opens in your browser. Paste your Alsona API key there and click Connect.

Option A: Claude (web or desktop app)

  1. Open Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector.

  2. Name it Alsona, paste the server URL, and click Continue.

  3. Claude sets up sign-in on its own and shows Sign in now and Register automatically. Keep both selected and click Add.

  4. Click the Connect button that appears, then paste your API key on the page that opens.

Option B: ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT settings, add a new connector and paste the server URL.

  2. When it asks how to sign in, choose OAuth.

  3. Paste your API key on the page that opens.

  4. Start a new chat and make sure the Alsona connector is turned on.

Option C: Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http alsona https://mcp.hublinks.io/mcp

Then in Claude Code, run /mcp, pick alsona, and sign in. Paste your API key on the page that opens in your browser.

Option D: Other MCP apps (Cursor, n8n, custom agents)

If your app can’t open a sign-in page, it can send the API key directly. Use whichever your app supports.

As a header:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Or inside the server URL:

https://mcp.hublinks.io/mcp/YOUR_API_KEY

If you use the URL version, keep that URL private. Anyone who has it can use your key.

Step 4: Test it

Open your assistant and ask:

“List my Alsona agents and tell me which ones are running.”

If you get your agents back, you’re connected.

What your AI assistant can do

With a read-only key

  • See your account, senders and stats

  • See your agents and where each one sources prospects

  • See prospects and their opportunity scores

  • See the buying signals your agents detected

  • Read your inbox conversations

  • Draft LinkedIn replies for you to review and send yourself

With a full access key, it can also

  • Create new agents as drafts

  • Start or pause agents

  • Add, update and remove prospects

  • Mark conversations as read, archive them, or add labels

New agents always start as drafts. Nothing goes out to prospects until you review the agent and start it.

Prompts to try

Signals and prospects

  • “Show me the top 20 prospects by opportunity score from the last 7 days”

  • “Which companies showed hiring signals this week?”

  • “Summarize the buying signals behind my 5 highest-scoring prospects”

  • “Remove anyone at acme.com from my agents”

Agents

  • “Which of my agents are running and which are paused?”

  • “Create a draft agent targeting heads of RevOps at Series A SaaS companies”

  • “Pause every agent that uses my second LinkedIn sender”

Inbox

  • “How many unread replies do I have, and which ones look positive?”

  • “Draft replies to my 3 most recent LinkedIn conversations so I can review them”

  • “Label every reply that mentions pricing as Interested”

Performance

  • “What’s my LinkedIn acceptance rate this month?”

  • “Compare reply rates across my senders”

Example conversations

These are illustrations. Your numbers will come from your own account.

Monday morning check-in

You: Give me a quick rundown of last week in Alsona. AI: Last week your agents picked up 412 buying signals across 286 companies. 61 prospects scored above 75. You sent 174 LinkedIn invites with a 44% acceptance rate, and you have 9 unread replies, 5 of them positive.

Reply drafting

You: Draft replies to my unread LinkedIn messages. Keep them short. AI: I drafted 4 replies. They're ready for you to review and send from your Alsona inbox.

Cleanup

You: Pause any agent that hasn't found a new prospect in 14 days. AI: Two agents match: "Fintech CFOs" and "EU Agencies Q3". Both are now paused.

Troubleshooting

Problem

What to do

Connection fails or the key is rejected

Go to Integrations > API Keys and check that the key’s status toggle is on. A disabled key is rejected.

Your assistant says it can’t make a change

You’re probably using a read-only key. Create a full access key and reconnect.

The sign-in page never opens

Check whether your browser blocked a pop-up, then click Connect again.

Your app has no sign-in step

Use the header or URL method under Option D.

You want to disconnect

Turn off or delete the key on the API Keys page. The assistant loses access right away.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code?
No. For Claude and ChatGPT you paste a URL and an API key. Claude Code is the only option that uses a terminal command.

Which AI assistants work with Alsona MCP?
Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code have step-by-step instructions on the MCP page. Any other app that supports MCP over HTTP works too, including Cursor and n8n.

Is my data safe?
Your assistant connects over encrypted HTTPS using your own API key, and it can only do what that key allows. Alsona is SOC 2 compliant. A read-only key can’t change anything in your account.

Can my AI assistant send messages to prospects on its own?
No. It can draft LinkedIn replies, and you review and send them. Agents it creates start as drafts and only run after you start them.

Should I use one key for every app?
Create a separate key for each assistant. If you ever want to cut one off, you can disable that key without breaking the others.

Which plans include MCP?
MCP is included on the Pro and Ultra plans, along with API access.

How do I disconnect?
Go to Integrations > API Keys and turn off or delete the key your assistant uses.
