Clay can send leads straight into an Alsona agent. You add an HTTP API column to your Clay table. Each time it runs, it posts that row to your agent, and the lead appears on the agent's Prospects tab.
Before you start
• A Clay plan with the HTTP API enrichment. It's a paid Clay feature, but Clay's free trial includes it.
• A Clay table of leads with a LinkedIn URL column. The LinkedIn URL is the only required field. First name, last name and a custom field are optional.
• Alsona and Clay open in two browser tabs. You'll copy values from Alsona into Clay as you go.
Step 1: Create an agent that imports from Clay (Alsona)
1. Go to Integrations and make sure the Clay toggle is on.
2. Go to Agents and click Create Agent.
3. On Connect your integrations, under Import Profiles, select Clay and click Continue.
4. The Clay Integration - REST API Setup window opens. It lists what Clay needs: the Endpoint URL (POST), the Required Headers and a sample POST JSON Body. Keep it open; you'll copy from it in the next steps.
Your endpoint URL is unique to your agent, so it's blurred here.
Step 2: Add an HTTP API column in Clay
1. Open your Clay table of leads. The video uses First Name, Last name, LinkedIn URL and Extra columns.
2. Click Add column, then Add enrichment.
3. Search for http and select HTTP API (the enrichment by Clay).
4. Open the Configure tab. Set Method to POST. Then copy the Endpoint URL from Alsona's setup window and paste it into Endpoint.
Clay warns that the column doesn't reference any other columns yet. That clears once you map your fields in Step 4.
Step 3: Connect Clay with your Alsona API key
Clay keeps the API key in a saved account, so the key stays secret and out of the column settings.
1. In the column's Account section in Clay, click Add account (visible at the top of the last screenshot).
2. Switch to Alsona and click Manage API keys in the setup window. Enter a name (for example, clay) and pick a permission that includes Clay profile import; the video uses full API access. Click Generate key, then copy the new key with the copy icon.
3. Back in Clay's Add HTTP API (Headers) Account window, name the connection and click Add a new key and value pair. Enter x-api-key as the Key and paste your Alsona API key as the Value. Click Save.
4. Clay confirms the account was created and selects it. Scroll down to Headers and add one more pair: key Content-Type, value application/json.
Step 4: Map your lead fields and run
Only ln_profile_url is required. The video sends four fields:

1. In Alsona's setup window, click Copy JSON. Paste it into Body in Clay.
2. Delete the fields you won't send. The sample body also accepts full_name, job_title, ln_headline, comp_name, comp_industry_name, comp_location_region, comp_website, email_business and phone_mobile.
3. Replace each sample value with a column: select the value, type / and pick the Clay column.
When you're done, each value is a column chip:
4. Open the menu on the Save button and choose Save and run for the rows in view.
5. Check the new HTTP API column. Status Code: 200 means Alsona accepted the lead. Click the cell to see the profile Alsona created, ending in Success: true.
Step 5: Launch the agent and check your prospects (Alsona)
1. In Alsona's setup window, click Got it. Finish the agent's remaining steps (Intent Signals, Pitch & Personality, Outreach & Schedule and Workflow), then launch it.
2. The confirmation screen says your Clay connection is ready. Click View Clay Setup to see the endpoint, headers and body again, or click Go to Agents.
3. Open the agent and go to the Prospects tab. Leads sent from Clay are listed there with their mapped fields, such as Custom Field 1.
4. To send more leads, add rows in Clay and run the HTTP API column for them, then refresh Prospects. If a row is missing a mapped value, its cell shows Some inputs missing and won't run until you fill it in.
